Netherlands (Holland): Climate & Weather
The climate is temperate and maritime which result in warm summers, quite rainy, and winters more cool than cold. Spring and autumn can experience heavy rainfall and grey skies are common. Changes in the weather can be quick, facilitated by the flatness of the land.
The best time to visit the country is in May, probably the driest month, and when the flowers take over the landscape. Autumn is also very pleasant, especially for visiting Amsterdam and strolling along the canals. Avoid the winter if you do not like strong winds, fog and clouds that darken the landscape. |
