TehranCapital of Iran, Tehran has 9 million inhabitants and its metropolitan area gathers almost 15 million. It has grown tremendously in recent decades after the first oil shock, and its economy is also based on industries such as automotive, electrical equipment, weaponry, textiles. The city is located at 1,000 meters above sea level, and the highest areas are 1700 meters in the foothills of the Alborz Mountains, making them cooler and less polluted in summer: residential villas found there, embassies, the parks. The south of the city, near the desert, includes the most popular areas and industries. Very cosmopolitan, the city includes many museums, restaurants, and over 800 highly maintained parks, making it a very pleasant city to visit. It can be reached with direct flights from European cities, and then landed at Imam Khomeini International Airport.
