What to do in Saint-Georges : Tips, places, hotels and restaurants
Jolie picturesque town, St. George is the capital of Grenada, and has just over 4,000 inhabitants. Despite the few sites of interest of the city, its friendly atmosphere is appreciated there, and it is very pleasant to stroll there. You will find Creole 19th century houses with their red tiled roofs, a port, the fairing, always bustling, a lively and colorful market which is the nerve center of the city. One can also visit the National Museum tracing the history of the island, and is housed in an old French barracks dating from 1704, the two forts, the most recent, Fort Frederick on Richlond Hill, and the oldest, fort George, overlooking the harbor. Many churches of the 19th century dot the city, such as the Anglican Church of St. George and the rectory of St. Andrew's. The city has an international airport. To move to the capital a minibus network exists, but you can also take a taxi or rent a car.
