What to do in Quebec : Tips, places, hotels and restaurants
Capital of the province of Quebec in Canada, Quebec has about 500,000 inhabitants. It is listed as a World Heritage Site and is the cradle of French civilization in North America. Located on the banks of the St. Lawrence River, the city is very popular with tourists for several reasons; its intense cultural life, its historic neighbourhoods, and its geographical environment. You can visit the Maison Blanchette Art Centre, the Interpretation Centre of the Old Port of Québec, the Fur Eco-Museum, or the Jesuit Mill, among many other museums. Several parks and gardens provide havens of rest, such as Beauport Bay where water sports fans can indulge in their favourite activities, Domain Maizerets with its hiking trails and arboretum, or the Roger Van den Hende botanical gardens with its educational circuit. Note also the Aquarium boasting 10,000 different species, the Chateau Frontenac, and the Observatory where you will discover a panoramic view of the city and its region. In addition, the city is the scene of many appealing and popular events such as Sailing Cup in June, the Summer Festival in July, or the Days of Culture in autumn. The city is also easily accessible both by road, air or rail, and public transportation is very efficient.
