What to do in Perth : Tips, places, hotels and restaurants
Located on the western coast of Australia, bordering the Indian Ocean, Perth is a city of over two million people, built on the banks of the Swan River. It seems that the Aborigines have occupied this site for 40 000 years! Today very modern city, Perth has a rich economy, and its development closely follows that of Sydney. Perth is accessed by air from other cities in Australia, but also international flights by road with three highways that serve the city, as well as by train. The city is extensive, it is the car that is privileged there as transportation, despite the many traffic jams. Between sunny beaches and trendy bars, parks and towering skyscrapers, you can also admire colonial architecture and enjoy the vibrancy of the city. You will discover some beautiful sites, such as the coastal port of Fremantle, a half hour from the center by boat on the Swan River, with its vestiges of the colonial era, the prison and the old courthouse; the brewery; the Maritime Museum; the Western Australian Museum and its scientific and cultural collections; the steeple of the Swan Bell Tower. Go as a picnic on the hills of Kings Park and the Botanical Garden; Take a ferry to Rottnest Island, where no cars, and snorkel on one of its 60 beaches or experience during your walks quokka, a small marsupial endemic; do not miss a concert at the Perth Concert Hall or a play in the Perth Theatre. Enjoy anyway the relaxed atmosphere of the city and the many activities it offers.
