What to do in Niagara Falls : Tips, places, hotels and restaurants

Niagara FallsOn the border of Canada and the United States, Niagara Falls consist in reality three separate falls on the Niagara River. This connects Lake Erie to Lake Ontario. Falls are a tourist site of importance since the mid-nineteenth century, and the repercussions are felt in both cities the same name built on each side of Niagara Falls, one in the Canadian state of Ontario, the other in New York in the USA. You will probably be surprised to discover these natural wonders sandwiched between highly developed urban complex. But in the end it will remove kidney to their huge size and beauty. The falls are not as impressive by their height (52 meters high) that by their width and speed (2800 m3 per second): they are also a huge source of hydroelectric power, and power was their worldwide fame. They are composed of three parts: the American Falls, the Horseshoe (or Canadian Falls) and the Bridal Veil, this drop is much smaller than the other two. One can visit the falls on a boat, Maid of the Mist: it makes you approach the Iron Horse Falls in placing himself in the middle of the place arc where the uproar was at its height because of amounts of water that plunge violently there. Another way, more peaceful, observe the falls: the hiking trails that are on the US side, particularly one that gives access to the Bridal Veil with its 300 steps. Canadian side, the Skylon and Minolta towers offer magnificent vantage points across the falls. You can also borrow an underground road that provides access to observatories, giving you the impression of you in the heart of the Falls! You will perhaps want to try the circuit proposed by the cable Tourbillon, which overlooks the river since 1916. Be sure also to visit the site when night fell, when the falls are beautifully illuminated. It is also possible to fly the helicopter ... The twin cities, connected by three bridges (with nearest the Falls, the Rainbow Bridge, will allow the most interesting view), will offer course all the infrastructure necessary for your accommodation and your restoration. Moreover, even if falls are arguably the highlight of exploring the area, there are many other things to discover, especially on the Canadian side: the wine route and its vineyards to delicious varieties, the Botanical garden where flying free in 2000 butterflies among the flowers, dozens of golf courses, the coast of lakes Erie and Ontario that will delight anglers, charming villages scattered around. And for romance lovers, noted a work of Joyce Carol Oates which is set in this incomparable site: "The Falls". Just to get you in the mood!
