What to do in Adelaide : Tips, places, hotels and restaurants
The fifth city of Australia and capital of the state of South Australia, Adelaide has over one million inhabitants. Situated on the east coast of Australia, it enjoys a Mediterranean climate with the least rainfall of all the Australian cities. You can easily discover the city on foot. Its main shopping street, Rundle Street boasts the largest mall in the southern hemisphere. You can visit the Victoria Street quarter with its buildings displaying Colonial architecture in the chic quarter of North Terrace before relaxing on the beaches that can be found in the city centre. There are other sites that are definitely worth visiting such as Ayers House with its colonial architecture, the saint Trinity Church, the Scottish church at North Terrace, the lovely Botanical Gardens, the Art Gallery with its collection of South-East Asia ceramics, and the Tandanya Aboriginal Institute that relates correctly how the city came to be built on Aboriginal territory, that of the Kaurnas. The city has a very dynamic cultural life and is actually the second city of Australia for culture. From Adelaide you can reach Barossa Valley in an hour, famous for its exceptional vineyards.
