Japanese city located on the island of Hokkaido, Sapporo is a very green city thanks to the many parks it hosts. It has a population of just under two million, and there are several interesting sites to visit, such as: Hokkaido University, which was created in 1876 to train young people in agricultural techniques to develop island; the botanical garden, with its 4000 varieties of plants; the old government building, made of red brick and built in 1888; the clock tower, symbol of the city, which indicates the time without interruption since 1881; Odori Park, a walk through the city center, where the Snow Festival takes place in February with its beautiful sculptures of snow and ice. You will also discover the Nakajima Park, hosting a sports center, a Japanese garden, a tea house built in the 17th century and a guest house; the Beer Museum, the first brewery in Japan opened in 1871; Maruyama Park and its magnificent cherry trees as well as Shinto sanctuary; the district of Susukino which gathers not less than 4500 restaurants, bars, cabarets and clubs; the 147-meter-high television tower with its observation platform located 90 meters away, very convenient for a panoramic view of the city.
