What to do in Pointe à Pitre : Tips, places, hotels and restaurants
the largest city in Guadeloupe, Pointe-à-Pitre has just over 15 000 inhabitants and is located west of Grande-Terre, at its junction with Lower Earth. The city has an international airport, and two bus stations. The port, very sheltered, welcomes cruise ships and freighters goods and boaters. To move around the city, there are taxis and buses (6 lines). Many sites to visit in the city: Victory Square and many colonial houses that surround it, the Schoelcher museum and its history of slavery, the museum Saint-John Perse, the Volcano House and its permanent exhibition on the volcanic activity of the Soufriere, the market of St. Antoine, the market Mam Reo.
