Provisions for travellers


Entry to the territory: Allowed
North Macedonia is open for travel through land and air. All land border crossings in North Macedonia are open for movement of passengers and vehicles. However neighboring countries may have different entry and exit restrictions on their side of the border.

People aged 18 and over, entering North Macedonia will need to present either:

-a full vaccination certificate, or
-a negative PCR test made in the 72 hours before entering the country, or
-a certificate of recovery from COVID-19 in the last 45 days, counting from the day of recovery

Citizens of North Macedonia and foreign nationals entering the country without a COVID-19 vaccination certificate, PCR test, or certificate of recovery from COVID-19 will be required to quarantine at home for seven days.

Foreign nationals transiting through the country will be able to do so within 5 hours with a previously signed statement of entry into the country which they will have to submit before the border control at the exit from the country.

To enter Skopje International Airport (including for a departing flight), people aged 18 and over are required to provide proof of vaccination with at least one dose, or a certificate showing you have recovered from COVID-19 within the past 45 days, or a negative PCR test made in the previous 72 hours, or rapid antigen test in the previous 48 hours.

Tests: Negative PCR test results is required for all countries.

Lockdown: Partial
Organized outdoor events are allowed at 30 percent of the venue's occupancy capacity, up to a cap of 1,000 people.

Gyms and outdoor individual sport practices have been permitted to resume with social distancing and hygiene measures in place. Group sports remain prohibited.

Seminars, training sessions, workshops, and conferences are allowed at 30 percent of the venue's capacity if held indoors, or 50 percent capacity if held outdoors.

Outdoor concerts and parties are now allowed.

Individuals over the age of 18 need to show proof of receiving at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine to attend any type of outdoor event regardless of the venue with more than 30 people present.

Most businesses are now open.

Public transport and taxi services are permitted to operate; face masks must be worn when traveling on public transport.

Face masks are required for all individuals to wear in indoor and outdoor public spaces and where social distancing of 2m (6ft) cannot be observed.
