Everyone – regardless of age and vaccination status – has to get a COVID-19 test a maximum of 72 hours prior to departure to Greenland. Note that if flying to Denmark first or via Denmark, the test must be taken a maximum of 48 hours prior to boarding the plane to Denmark.

Travelers will also be subject to a 14-day quarantine or quarantine until they can get a negative test result in Greenland, which can be conducted on day 5 after arriving in Greenland. Fully vaccinated travelers can get retested as early as the day after arrival in Greenland, and if that test is negative, then they can end the quarantine. Note that they must have received the vaccination’s final dose at least 14 days prior to travel in order to be considered ‘fully vaccinated.’

There are additional details to be aware of regarding the quarantine and traveling to Greenland, all of which are available on Visit Greenland.

Travelers should be aware that Greenland may stop flights/travel on short notice, depending on the spread of the virus.
