What to do in Tilos : Tips, places, hotels and restaurants
Greek island of the Dodecanese islands in the Aegean, Tilos has an arid and mountainous landscape and has just under 800 people, living mainly in the two largest villages on the island, Megalo Chorio, (inland) and Livadia the port, which is also the tourist center, where hotels and shops are located. These are the beaches that attract travelers to Tilos, especially the Bay of Livadia, frequented by clients of hotels, and the Eristos, along which there are beautiful sites for camping and even a water point. Tilos is highly appreciated for its calm, warm hospitality of its inhabitants, water sports or outdoor practicing in an idyllic setting, and some attractions such as the monastery of Agios Panteleimon 15th century, with its beautiful icons or various small churches scattered on the island, such as the archangel Michael, Megalo Chorio,. See the Tilos Park for its fauna and flora, the cave of Charkadio and the fossilized bones of dwarf elephants older than 45 000 years. Do not expect an intense night life on Tilos, but fans will however make a trip to the disco Livadia open during peak season. Tilos is accessed by ferry from Piraeus or from Rhodes, but beware, the links are not daily. To move on the island, you will find taxis, or you can rent a scooter.
