What to do in Tenerife : Tips, places, hotels and restaurants

TenerifeIle part of the Canaries, Spain, Tenerife lies off the coast of Africa in the Atlantic Ocean: the largest island of the archipelago and it has a little less than a million inhabitants. Its highest point rises to 3718 meters, and tourism is its main business, the production of tomatoes, cucumbers and bananas. Several sites worth a visit: the southern sandy beaches, such as Costa Adeje; the strangely lunar landscape of Teide National Park, where the Teide, the third highest volcano in the world is; the beach of Tejita, in the south, away from the crowds with beautiful views of Red Mountain, and popular surfing; Siam Park, the largest water park in Europe, in Adeje, with kilometers of water slides, giant waves and waterfalls; the historic center of La Orotava, in the north, one of the oldest villages in the archipelago, founded after the Spanish conquest, with its religious monuments and its wooden balconies; Rural Park Anaga massif of jagged mountains and cliffs; the historic center of La Laguna, with its colonial architecture that has earned it World Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO, in the north of the island; Teno Rural Park, a mountain range on the western edge of the island with its 13 marked trails to discover the local environment. Golf enthusiasts may take advantage of eight short where test their swing, and nature lovers will visit the southwest coast for whale and other species, such as dolphins, orcas and whales. One can also enjoy water sports such as sailing or scuba diving, but the hike is also honored with 4000 km of routes that can be made with or without a guide, and satisfy all skill levels. See also: the Church of the Candelaria, the Pyramids of Guimar (much like those built by the Maya, but from the 19th century), the Museum of Nature and Man of Santa Cruz, the Masonic Temple of Santa Cruz. In February, the Carnival of Santa Cruz is a highly regarded event as the third most popular in the world after Rio and Venice, not to be missed so if you get the chance. There are two airports to get to Tenerife, one south and one north of the island. To move on Tenerife, the car is very convenient to visit all possible sites, but you can also easily find a taxi, or take the bus, comfortable and very regular, but often overcrowded.
