What to do in Rabat : Tips, places, hotels and restaurants
The capital of Morocco, Rabat has more than 600,000 inhabitants and nearly two million if the entire agglomeration is taken into account. Located on the Atlantic Ocean coastline, the city is surrounded by a monumental wall. It is served by the Rabat-Salé International Airport. For travel around the city, bus and tram networks are still under construction. Several touristic sites worth visiting include the Oudaïas Kasbah and the gardens, Chella necropolis dating back to 1339, the Saint- Pierre Cathedral, the Hassan Tower, the Royal Palace, the Mosque of Agdal, the old medina, Ibn Sina park with its eucalyptus and pine trees, the Archaeological Museum, as well as the beaches, Bouregreg marina, or the Andalusians wall. For accommodation, you can easily find all types of hotels or riads in the medina at affordable prices. Trendy restaurants are located in the district of Agdal, but during strolls around the city you will discover numerous small discrete and modest establishments where you can enjoy mint tea and Moroccan pastries, and other delicious local specialties.
