What to do in Paros : Tips, places, hotels and restaurants
Third largest island of the Cyclades, Greece, Paros has just under 13 000 inhabitants, and it is best served in terms of maritime connections. One can also get there by plane from Athens. The island has many beaches, often very beautiful, very lively ports, and beautiful landscapes that make it a popular tourist destination. Parikia The capital hosts the ferries, but you will just push you a bit in the old town to find quiet and charming alleys, dominated by blue and white Cycladic. Admire the Kastro, Venetian building dating from the 13th century, and the church Panagia Ekatontapiliani, almost unique early Christian basilica in its kind. You can then discover the coves of Cape Agios Fokas nearby and the port of Naoussa north, very picturesque (but crowded in summer), one of Pounta, calmer, the beautiful surrounding beaches, and finally the village of Lefkes perched on the hills, with its flowery streets, from where several hiking trails. You'll love the various beaches of the island, some very popular and many others more serene. There are many accommodations in Paros, but they are however sometimes insufficient during peak season.
