Kenya's capital, Nairobi has a population of just below three million people. It is situated at 1,500 meters altitude, which pleasantly moderates its tropical climate. Its main characteristic is the existence of a protected nature reserve inside the city, the Nairobi National Park. However, the rapid increase in population has led to the growth of many slums. The city is served by an international airport. A cosmopolitan city that is very lively, we recommend visits to the popular River Road area with its small shops offering a variety of food, there are a number of excellent museums including the National Museum and the Museum of Snakes or the neoclassical Courthouse. The Karen Blixen Museum has a colonial interior typical of the early 20th century, and in the Giraffe Centre you can feed these great placid animals. There is also the national park, and outside of the city, the Ostrich park. You will be struck by the contrast between the skyscrapers situated throughout the city and the nature close by where wildebeest, zebras and cheetahs inhabit the savannah. You will have no problem finding restaurants or hotels, both abundant and well distributed throughout the city.
