What to do in Malaga : Tips, places, hotels and restaurants
Located in the south of Spain, west of the Mediterranean coast, Malaga is part of the Andalusia region. It has about 560,000 inhabitants, almost a million if we consider its entire urban area. Built eight centuries BC, it is one of the oldest European cities, but it is now an important tourist center, with its rich privileged climate, it is tempered by its maritime entries that make heat more bearable in the summer than in the neighboring Andalusian, and attractive with many attractions for the traveler. Malaga is accessed by train that connects to other cities in Andalusia. Although it has less historical monuments as some other cities in the region, you will discover many treasures unavoidable: the Picasso Museum, housed in the Buenavista Palace, 16th century; just opposite the ruins of the Roman Theatre; Gibralfaro Castle, where we embrace a magnificent panorama of the city and surrounding areas; the Alcazaba fortress reflecting the Muslim past of the city, with its gardens and palaces; Cathedral, imposing and sumptuous. Here you can also explore the Carmen Thyssen Museum and its collection of paintings devoted to Spanish artists, the pre-Columbian art museum or center for contemporary art, enjoy the nightclubs, restaurants and tapas bars, not to mention all beaches close where to practice water sports or relaxing as you like. To wander the city, walking is the most convenient way, but rent a bike can also be an attractive solution.
