What to do in Ibiza : Tips, places, hotels and restaurants
Located on the eponymous island, Ibiza Town is the capital of this island. Its port is situated in a natural bay and is one of two main entrances, the other being the airport. Ibiza is one of the oldest cities of the world and demonstrates more than 2600 years of history. Ramparts dating from the Renaissance surround the historic center of the old town, and some monuments have been classified as world heritage by UNESCO, as the walls already mentioned, but also the cathedral. Other sites worth visiting, such as the Episcopal Palace, the town hall housed in the former Dominican convent, the castle overlooking the city, and several museums, including the Museum of Contemporary Art and the Archaeological Museum. But the city also enjoys the reputation of the rest of the island, famous for its festive atmosphere: you will find many shops, and at night, fancy parades driving by announcing evenings planned, the bars come alive and then it will be the clubs that take over. During the day you can enjoy the beautiful beaches of the city and stroll on the market of the Marina. To move around, walking is perfect, but there are also affordable taxis, and buses that connect the city to the rest of the island.
