What to do in Gavdos : Tips, places, hotels and restaurants
Greek island located about forty kilometers south of Crete, Gavdos only about a hundred people, and its history is intertwined with it its more illustrious neighbor. Semi-mountainous, it has beautiful sand dunes, beautiful beaches with turquoise waters and a rather dry vegetation. There are several villages on the island, where to find a homestay. Gavdos is ideal for escaping the stress of Western life: stroll to the highest point of the island where a lighthouse was erected, discover the Tripiti cape in the far south and you perch on the wooden giant chair who installed, or simply enjoy the serenity and simplicity of its wild and unspoiled landscapes, sleeping under the stars and living naked. There are very few tourist facilities on the island (a tavern however some rooms for rent on the beach of Korfos), few restaurants, and only two small supermarkets. No hotel, no bank. You will come to Gavdos from Crete disembarking at the port of Karave, then you can join the capital Kastri through a bus, with rather fanciful hours: Welcome to Gavdos!
