What to do in Durban : Tips, places, hotels and restaurants
A city in South Africa, Durban is on the coastline beside the Indian Ocean, it has just over a million inhabitants. Situated in the heart of a touristic area, Durban however unfortunately suffers from a high degree of criminality although there are a number of places and sites worth visiting including the promenade along the sea front, the aquarium and dolphinarium, the Durban Museum, Francis Farewell Square with its colonial statues, the Juma Mosque, the Emmanuel Cathedral, Elephant House, the magnificent Botanical Gardens and the beautiful South Beach. From the city you can also visit a rebuilt Zulu village, the sea resorts of Amanzimtoti and Umhlanga Rocks, and the impressive waterfalls on the Hibiscus coast. The climate is very pleasant all year round and the warm sea water is tempting for sea bathing. You will enjoy strolling in the vivacious Indian quarter which has a good market. For surfers there are some excellent spots to practise your sport. Do not miss a visit to the famous Kruger National Park with its varied wildlife and superb landscapes, go in your car.
