Second city of Ireland, Cork Rebel has just under 120 000 inhabitants and is located in the south of the island. It is crossed by the River Lee, and in the middle of the river island is the heart of Cork. It is also one of the largest ports in the country. There are many sites to visit in the city: the English Market with stalls of handicrafts and farm cheeses; Crawford Gallery on Patrick's Street, which dates from 1884, with works by Canova offered by the Vatican; the prison that will teach you a lot about the lives of prisoners in the 19th century; University built in 1845 and overlooking the river; the Franciscan Well Brewery, Irish microbrewery located on the site of a former Franciscan monastery; the Cork Opera House, built in 1855 but many times rebuilt and renovated, with its majestic hall with exceptional acoustics, and which celebrates art in all its forms; Fitzgerald Park, green space in the city center with its trails, its lake and play areas in the middle of trees populated of birds; Fort Elizabeth, pregnant asteroid dating from 1624. Cork is accessed by an international airport located 6 km from the city, and to move there twenty buses, taxis, unless you prefer to rent a car.
