Capital of Catalonia, Barcelona has a very strong touristic side. It has just under two million inhabitants, double that if the entire agglomeration is included. Finding food and lodging is easy but the prices are often high. Several days are necessary to really discover the city; there are great shopping opportunities and a lively night life but also some lovely places to visit such as the architecture of Gaudi, a stroll along the famous Rambla to the Port where the statue of Christopher Columbus can be seen, stroll around Guell Park, wander around the Boqueria covered market and discover the old quarter of Barri Gotic, visit the Picasso Museum and the Dali Museum, admire the Sagrada Familia. There is also the Aquarium and the Maritime Museum. After your visits take a few hours to relax on the beach. Spring and autumn are the best times to visit Barcelona. Try and avoid using a car in the city, public transport using the bus, metro or tram is better and they serve all the popular areas of the city. You will definitely be seduced by the numerous attractions of this lively city that possesses such a vivacious and cheerful character.
