Cape Verde Islands are a group of ten main islands which are added the smaller islands. They are volcanic and hilly. Their geographical location (at the northern limit of the zone of tropical rains) there is little rain on the coastal areas but a little more in the hills. The rains have mostly between August and October. Temperatures are typically tropical with no cool season although one can note a small difference throughout the year. The coolest months are December to March. The sun shines an average of 7 to 10 am daily and reaches its peak between February and June.
