Anguilla enjoys a subtropical climate, the temperatures of which can be tolerated due to wind and humidity. The most important precipitation occurs between October and December, and the periods most frequented by tourists are December and January.

What to do in Anguilla


The beaches are undeniably the most beautiful attractions of the region, and they compete to offer the tourist their white sand and turquoise water, coves or long immaculate expanses.

One can however visit some interesting sites, like the house Wallblake House, restored plantation built in 1787; On Sandy Hill, the ruins of a Dutch fort built in the 17th century; The salt ponds of Sandy Ground and West End; The tomb of Governor Richardson; The Bethel Methodist Church, a beautiful stone building; The former salt extraction plant. Between April and November, you can observe the turtles laying their eggs and perhaps see the baby turtles hatch, then their race to reach the sea.

Sports enthusiasts can enjoy a wide range of water activities and bicycle rides or horseback riding. There are also several festive events during the year, carnival, regattas or music festival.
 

Anguilla: The basics


To enter the archipelago, you must have a valid passport if you are a citizen of the EU.

The current currency is the Eastern Caribbean dollar (EC $).

You will arrive by plane to the airport of Wallblake, located 5 minutes from the capital. You can also take the boat from St. Martin, the journey takes about half an hour.

To travel in the archipelago, only one road crosses the island in the direction of the length and tracks lead to the beaches of the coast. You can rent a car or take a taxi.

Health: As a precaution, it is better to drink bottled water rather than tap water. Protect yourself properly from the sun.

Security: There is no security problem, and you just need to take basic precautions, such as not exposing valuable objects to view.
