What to do in Minsk : Tips, places, hotels and restaurants

MinskCapital of the Republic of Belarus, Minsk has 1.7 million inhabitants. Located in the center of the country, it undergoes a continental climate, milder than in Russia, but with frequent fog and heavy snow in winter.

The city is connected to Moscow by a highway, and has a network of twenty metro stations and buses and trams. An international airport serves many European capitals. The city is an important industrial center, but also the cultural center of the country, with numerous theaters and museums and dozens of libraries.

Also note the presence of the Minsk Circus, one of the largest in Europe. You can also visit the National Museum of Fine Arts, with its collections of various origins, the National Museum of Culture and History of Belarus, the National Library and installed in his beautiful and imposing, modern building.

However, you will find few traces of the ancient history of the city because of the bombings of two world wars that have hit hard: you can visit the main district called Faubourg de la Trinidad with its quaint houses, several churches, Palace of the Republic and the Cathedral of St. Mary.
