Towns in Cuba

Havana

HavanaCapital of Cuba, Havana has two and a half million inhabitants. It is bisected by the river Almendares overlooking the Straits of Florida. Its location within a bay allows the presence of three major ports.

Its tropical climate with temperatures between 22 and 28 ° C makes it a pleasant destination. Its heritage is strongly influenced by Spanish colonial architecture, fairly well preserved except in certain areas of the city, whose economic situation is precarious. The historic center is a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and its restoration highlights Andalusian architecture of its buildings amid lush vegetation: discover its small houses and shops, as well as Plaza de la Catedral, with its beautiful church.

You do not miss a stroll on the Malecon road along the coast or in the neighborhood Verdado with its museums and the castle del Morro, and visit the cathedral of San Cristobla Habana. Music is also an almost permanent feature of the city.

Beware, however: despite the standard of living very low Cubans, life is expensive for tourists, which is a major economic resource for the country.
