Chile is a country with four seasons principal. Summer, between December and March, which seems to be the ideal time to visit the natural sites. Then there yal'automne, which runs from late March to May followed by winter, from June to August, during which it is possible to go skiing. And finally, there is the spring, which is the ideal time to visit the cities of Chile. Because different altitudes from one region to another, the temperature also differs from one city to another as the climate there. Thus, in the north, the climate is rather arid at the same time, in the South, there is rain, even snow. With this climatic diversity, it is possible to go in Chile, at any time of year, just choose the right region depending on the season you want.

What to do ?


With its beautiful scenery and very troubled recent history, Chile is a country dedicated to the many attractions.

Santiago, the capital is huge and polluted: the relatively small center includes churches and parks, the colorful central market and picturesque Plaza de Armas, the pedestrian street "Paseo Ahumada," the palace of La Moneda, the Pre-Columbian Museum and the Palacio de Bellas Artes. Montez also atop Cerro San Cristobal and visit the vineyards of the region.

Valparaiso is a step not to be missed: the cliffs dominate its cobbled streets, staircases linking the neighborhoods senior waterfront, giving rise to endless walks in this city so special. Museums and crafts market are also worth a visit.

Easter Island is obviously a place to share you can not ignore: located almost 4000 km from the coast of Chile, its mysteries are far from solved ... The origins of the Polynesian population, the construction of its colossal statues , will leave you amazed and full of questions.

The National Park Puyehue brings exceptional landscapes: dense forests, lakes, waterfalls, houses a wildlife and birds of all kinds, and an endemic vegetation. Ideal for hiking and other outdoor activities.

Chile : The basics


There are several international flights serving Santiago.

There is not asked for visas to nationals of the EU.

The current currency is the Chilean peso. The budget required is still moderate despite a sharp increase in recent years. An average meal will cost you less than 15 €, and a double room around 40 €.

There are no special precautions regarding health, if this is good protection against the sun, and vigilance regarding the altitude sickness. Prudence demands that your vaccinations are updated, as well as against hepatitis A.

For your travel within the country, the bus system is very efficient. The aircraft is also an affordable cost.
