This will be a 2.6-hectare site entirely dedicated to them in the west of the Japanese capital, featuring games, shops, and a lush natural area. This space, dubbed the “Pokémon Forest,” will be peppered with over 600 Pokémon statues scattered across the landscape. The entire goal is to allow everyone to fully enjoy a life-sized, immersive experience within the world of these iconic characters.

According to the designers, this is a story in itself, designed to appeal simultaneously to children, families, and adult fans who feel nostalgic for the first generation of Pokémon.

What Exactly Are Pokémon?

For anyone who might have missed the memo, Pokémon were born in Japan in 1995. The name is a contraction of “Pocket Monsters,” and they are animal-like creatures that live in an imaginary world. Each has specific superpowers that allow them to evolve or change form, becoming bigger and more powerful.

To make things more exciting, Pokémon can be captured, raised, and traded by humans, who must travel this virtual world to find and catch them using devices called “Poké Balls.”

In short, it’s an entire imaginative world revolving around more than a thousand Pokémon species spread across several generations. Among the most well-known are the now-famous Pikachu (which has become the brand’s official mascot) and Charmander, another one of the oldest in the family. This has been a global phenomenon for thirty years now, which has evolved over time into trading cards, comic books and mangas, films, video games, “augmented reality” experiences, and now a dedicated park. The ultimate recognition!

> Infos : www.pokepark-kanto.co.jp

Some things leave a lasting mark across generations, and the famous Pokémon are undeniably one of them.
