That was a record in hospitality, but it has recently been eclipsed by another\u2014less pricey yet even more colossal. The city of Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, has just inaugurated the world’s tallest hotel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It was in mid-November that Dubai opened the Ciel Dubai Marina<\/strong>, which will now hold the title of the world’s tallest hotel, dethroning the Gevora Hotel and its 356 metres, which was also built in Dubai. The finished result is a stunning, futuristically designed building of 82 storeys, standing 377 metres high, and offering 1,004 rooms and suites aimed at a rather high-end clientele.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Located in the Dubai Marina district\u2014a dazzling blend of ultra-modern architecture and seaside luxury\u2014the area remains one of the city’s most iconic and dynamic locales. The imposing structure certainly stands out and enhances the city’s already impressive skyline. Furthermore, and perhaps unsurprisingly, the Ciel Dubai offers the ultimate panoramic views from its observation deck, perched almost at the very top.<\/p>\n\n\n\n But that’s not all. As Dubai has long chosen to be “the world’s destination for high-end tourism and a model city of the future,” the hotel naturally follows suit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Here, guests will find over 1,000 luxurious, extensively glazed rooms and suites to take advantage of the views, plus all the services and amenities you could imagine in such a location. These include a panoramic infinity pool on the (first) rooftop, a restaurant (in addition to seven others) that is just as panoramic on the 76th floor, a spa and fitness centre also located high up, and multi-storey stacked gardens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n All this comes at a relatively affordable price, especially when compared to the Las Vegas hotel-casino. Starting prices here are just US$500 or US$600 per night. That’s barely the cost of 10 minutes in the world’s most famous, most expensive American suite…<\/p>\n\n\n\n
