What to do in Santander : Tips, places, hotels and restaurants

SantanderSpanish city located on the north coast, in the region of Cantabria, Santander has a little less than two hundred thousand inhabitants.

City is both peaceful and cosmopolitan, and very well served by the highway, very close to France, it is primarily a seaside resort, but also has important monuments, you will discover the Palace of La Magdalena, the castle San Felipe, the Cathedral of Asuncion de la Virgen, the convent of Santa Cruz, and several museums like the Fine Arts, the Regional Museum of Prehistory and Archaeology, or the Marcelino Botin Foundation.

The beach is obviously a must when you are in Santander, in particular the Sardinero, but you can also drive to the beautiful village of Santillana del Mar, a little less touristy.

The city is also home to a jazz festival in July and another music and dance in August. Santander already has, despite its proximity to the French border, a typically Spanish atmosphere, which will surely captivate you.

Feel free to taste the local specialties based seafood in many restaurants in the city.
