Russia's second city, St. Petersburg has almost five million inhabitants. Situated on the delta of the Neva, it has a remarkable architecture, and is the second Russian Baltic port.
Magnificent city popular with tourists, it has long been the preferred residence of the Czars, and many places show of pomp and wealth of that period.
You will discover hundreds of buildings and dozens of museums include the random Peter and Paul Fortress, the Winter Palace, the theater Marrinsky, the Bronze Horseman, St. Isaac's Cathedral, Smolny Convent, monastery Alexander Nevsky, the Summer Garden, the Hermitage Museum, among others.
