City of Portugal, Porto has 240 thousand inhabitants, but about two million for the entire metropolitan area.
Located on the Atlantic coast, the city gave the country its name: it enjoys a Mediterranean climate with oceanic influences, is quite damp but sunny. Many sites and monuments are tourist attractions: the historic center is also listed as World Heritage by UNESCO.

You can also admire the quays along the Douro with their tall, narrow houses so typical.
There are five subway lines to get around the city, which itself is served by an airport and several highways. The city is also famous for its wine, appetizer universally enjoyed.
