The coasts of Istria and Dalmatia, the most visited by tourists, offers a Mediterranean climate with mild winters and hot, dry summers, the climate of Dubrovnik is representative of this region. The best time to visit is from May to October, July and August with temperatures the warmest but also the greatest concentration of tourists. The hinterland, less frequented, has a continental climate with harsh winters and cold summers and warm and sometimes heavy. This region is the one who receives the most rainfall in summer. |

What to do ?
If Croatia is a travel destination en vogue, is surely in part due to its some 5700 kilometers of beaches along the shores of the Adriatic Sea.
After the conflicts that have ravaged the former Yugoslavia, Croatia has regained its charm before as a tourist destination of choice in Europe. If conflicts have in fact taken place mainly in the inland, the beaches and resorts are almost intact. For some years now, peace and security in the country are back giving way to a restart of the tourism sector which was once a key sector of the economy of the former Yugoslavia. The Croatian government is ready and massive investment to rebuild the country, to the delight of visitors. The latter may well discover the magnificent palace of the Roman emperor Diocletian (284 to 305) in the city of Split. This city is also with the old town of Dubrovnik, the jewel of Croatia. It houses the tomb of the illustrious Roman emperor of the 4th century. Split is approximately 150 kilometers from Dubrovnik. While often cited Dubrovnik, Split and Rovinj, Zagreb is the capital, with buildings dating from the time of rebirth. But the neo-Gothic architectural style is also present from the late 19th century. Some mortar fire and shell impacts have damaged the capital, but restoration work is underway and will allow visitors to discover the many museums which it abounds. One example is the museum of archeology that entirely covers the period from prehistoric to medieval times. Stari Grad, the oldest city of Dubrovnik and probably Croatia, home of beautiful tall buildings and squares lined with marbles in street paved detours. |
Croatia : The basics
Budget side, a little over a hundred euros a day will suffice for the high life in Croatia. Life is much cheaper than in Western European countries. For smaller budgets, forty euro will be enough to ensure a successful trip by staying in a hostel and restaurant is simple yet delicious coffee. Camping is also a good way to visit Croatia, while having a tight budget. Prices of accommodation and food does not vary much.
To go in Croatia, the aircraft is certainly the most convenient since the fastest. The train or ferry, via Italy, are also possible and the car with which you will peruse about 1,400 km linking Croatia from Paris. If you plan to rent a car, then know that the conduct is in English: Right. You will get used. Otherwise, taxis are not too expensive, provided that not too distant cities. |
