Baku

Baku
Capital of Azerbaijan, Baku is built on the shores of the Caspian Sea. With just over two million inhabitants, has existed for thousand years BC and has remains dating from the 5th century.

At the center you will find the walled city, with winding lanes, reflecting its cultural diversity through the different tracks that will remain. Two masterpieces are worth noting: the Palace Shirvanshahs, built in the 15th century and the Maiden Tower, from the 6th century BC and restored in the 12th century.

To the south, the city has a new modern architecture and a very geometric arrangement, which does not interfere with its elegance. Guests can visit numerous museums, but the mosques that are open to non-Muslims as well as several other places of pilgrimage. We can point out some interesting places, like the Place des Fontaines, the belfry neo-classical city hall, the art nouveau Palace of Petroleum, the Museum of Carpets and Applied Arts, the Alley of Martyrs, and the Institute of Manuscripts, and the Palace Ismaillya.

Its mild climate and proximity to beaches make it a popular holiday destination for Russians.
