What to do in Togo

Togo : The basics

A visa is required which you can get directly at the destination airport. The currency in circulation is the CFA franc. You require only a very modest budget: A double room with bathroom will cost you between €15 and €30 depending on the location and you can eat an abundant meal for €5 or €6 at the street stalls, €15 in a restaurant. As with most African countries, a vaccination against yellow fever is required, and also updates to all the normal vaccinations, it is advisable to add those against typhoid and hepatitis A and B. The meningitis vaccine is also recommended during the dry season. Finally, you should take the usual precautions regarding the consumption of water, fruit and vegetables and attentive hand washing, do not swim in stagnant water and avoid close contact with animals. For inland transportation, minibuses are numerous and inexpensive. You can also ride around by bicycle, or rent a 4x4 if you have a high budget. |
Towns in Togo
Capital of Togo, Lome has just over 700 thousand inhabitants. City border, it evolves very fast, between traditional African culture and rapid modernization.
