What to do in Reunion
Nature is everywhere and the added cultural mosaic make Réunion a paradise.

Reunion : The basics
Réunion is very well served by several airlines.
French citizens obviously do not need a visa, and other EU citizens can live there without a visa for up to three months. The currency in circulation is the Euro as with the entire French territory. The budget is very similar to that required in France. For hotel accommodation, "one star" or bed and breakfast costs around €50 and a hearty and tasty meal €25. You will pay much less at street stalls or for a takeaway meal. Feel free to taste the many culinary specialties: Almost one per city! Regarding health, there are no particular risks: It is advisable to keep all your classic vaccinations up to date and add those for hepatitis A and B. Protect yourself from the sun and mosquitoes, and surfers should watch out for sharks. To travel inland, buses serve the coast road and taxis serve the villages. You can also rent a car if you do not mind the narrow roads. Possible Souvenirs: Bamboo or Common Screw Pine basketry, furniture, embroidery, flowers. |
Towns in Reunion
Largest city in the French department of Reunion, Saint-Denis has just under 140,000 inhabitants. Located north of the island is served by an international airport.
It vibrates to the rhythm mixed with a Creole tradition alive and modernity claimed. You will discover with pleasure the pedestrian area, the street of Paris, the Art Rental, the Creole cottages scattered throughout the city, the covered market with its wrought-iron architecture, the Barachois and guns on the coast, the cathedral, the Garden state with its Museum of Natural History and the Museum Leon Dierx.
In addition, very beautiful excursions await you: the isle bark, the cascade Cauldron, Roche Written, the village of Great Boat, in particular. You will find varied accommodation, hotels, gites or bed and breakfast, but better to do it in advance in high season.
