You can admire the town some interesting monuments: Nidaros Cathedral, one of the most important building representative of Gothic architecture in the country, dating from the 11th century, and which are still sacred kings of Norway; the palace of the Archbishop housing the crown jewels; the old wooden bridge from downtown; on a hill, the fortress of Kristianten; the statue of Olav Tryggvson who founded the city, erected in the central square; Stifsgarden the royal residence, the largest wooden building in Europe, covering 4000 m2. You can also visit a number of museums: the Museum of Art, the Museum of Decorative Arts, the Science Museum, the Maritime Museum or the tram museum, to name a few. To access Trondheim, you will take the aircraft through its nearby international airport, but the train, which connects you to Oslo, or boat with the Coastal Express which also serves Bergen. On site, tram or bus will make you great service for your transportation in the city. Several festivals are to report for you to discover the cultural richness of the place: jazz festival, chamber music, or film. Another curiosity worth noting: the elevator bicycle, kind of lift that takes you bicycle bridge Gamle Bybro to the Kristiansten fortress, before allowing you gently downhill to the city!
