What to do in Nanjing : Tips, places, hotels and restaurants

NanjingConsidered the capital of southern China, built near Delta Yanzi Jiang, Nanjing (Nanjing) has more than 8 million people and has played a major role in the country's history. The city offers travelers an impressive historical heritage, such as its magnificent ramparts, but also a nice modern atmosphere, with its wide tree-lined avenues, museums and cafes, its lakes and parks, forming a mixture surprising modernity and tradition. Examples of possible visits: the Zi Jin Shan mountains and monuments known as the Sun Yat Sen Mausoleum, the tomb of Xiaoling, or Linggu temple; the Nanjing Massacre Memorial (or "pit to the ten thousand bodies") which recalls the tragedy of the Japanese occupation in the early 20th century; Temple Confucius; Xuyuan the garden or Zhanyuan garden, traditional gardens with their shady paths, their wooden chalets and small bridges; night markets that dot the neighborhoods; the Nanjing Museum with its temple-like and beautiful exhibitions of ancient calligraphy, sculpture and funeral suits; the ruins of the palace in the Ming Wuchaomen park; the Presidential Palace, built on the original foundations Ming Palace; the Fuzi Temple, in a pedestrian area of the city; the remains of the famous walls of the Tang Dynasty, built between 1366 and 1393, with its fortified gates, a great work of which it remains only two thirds. Nanjing is accessed by landing at the international airport of the city, but also by train because Nanjing is located on the Beijing-Shanghai line. One can also get there by bus from several Chinese cities and ferries connect the city to Shanghai, Wuhan and Chongqing. For travel to the city, the metro is very effective, but there are also buses and taxis.
