City of Andalusia, a southern region of Spain, Cordoba is built on the River Guadalquivir and has just over 320 000 inhabitants. It has a rich historical center of religious and archaeological heritage, which has earned him a World Heritage by UNESCO, and is a popular tourist center. To get there, you can take a plane up to Seville and rally Cordoba by train. The city will seduce you for several reasons: its festive atmosphere around the flamenco, its innovative gastronomy, monuments from different periods. What to see in Cordoba? The Great Mosque of course, who has the reputation of being the most notable Islamic monument in Europe and the largest of the West, whose construction began in the 8th century; Alcazar of the Christian Kings, both palace and fortress, blending vestiges of Arab, Visigoths and Romans, with its patios, its flowers and its dense vegetation, its chapel and baths with vaulted rooms; the Royal Stables; Roman Mausoleums, shape and imposing size; the Synagogue, beautifully preserved. But the trendiest outlets lovers will not be left out: bars, cafes, theaters, nightclubs, concert halls, you can enjoy a vibrant nightlife and friendly if that is your wish. For traveling in the city, your feet will do nicely, but there is however a dense and efficient bus network, which works even at night during weekends. One last tip: do not choose the summer to discover Cordoba, the temperatures are very hot!
